Highlights of Thailand & Burma 14 Days

Highlights of Thailand & Burma - bannar

This tour integrates the highlights of these two countries, Burma and Thailand.

The tour begins in Bangkok. With a private guide, ride a long-tail boat to tour Bangkok’s canals. Visit the must-see temples and learn about the influence of Buddhism on daily life. Listen to monks chant during a morning ceremony. Visit colorful markets that sell handicrafts, textiles, food, and flowers. When not touring, pass the time at the world’s leading spa, play tennis, shop for Thai silks, swim, buy art work, and eat Southeast Asia’s best dishes.

Next, fly to Yangon (Rangoon) in Burma. With your private driver and guide, visit the Shwedagon Pagoda, a 300-foot high golden Buddhist pagoda and the city’s most stunning landmark. You will also visit the National Museum and Scott Market. Get a chance to tour around the neighborhoods that epitomize Yangon’s British, Bangladeshi, Burmese, and indigenous influences.

The next part of your trip is a visit to Bagan, where thousands of ancient temples are on display as far as the eye could see. Visit the ancient temples that were constructed between the 11th and 13th centuries when the province was the center of Buddhism in the region. Learn about the province’s deep history by studying the carvings, paintings, and ancient Buddhist statues. Watch the magnificent sunset atop a temple while in Bagan. Drink a cool beverage as you cruise the Irrawaddy River, followed by a traditional puppet show. Go to renowned lacquerware workshops, markets, and villages in Bagan.

Spend your last night in Yangon before flying back to Thailand for many relaxing days at an excellent resort in Chiang Mai, flanked by soaring mountains and breathtaking rice terraces. The resort you will check into features one of the most famous spas and cooking school in Thailand.

Along with your private guide, go to renowned mountaintop temples, local hill tribe villages, and the Winter Palace of the royal family. You can also browse Chiang Mai’s craft districts that sell paper umbrellas, teak furniture, silk weavings, celadon ceramics, and Thai lacquer. A day will be left for you to enjoy the resort’s cooking school, infinity pool, and spa. Return to Bangkok to catch your return flight home.
